Hospital Tour

We finished the third of five birthing classes and took a tour of the hospital and birthing clinic. It was good to have a 'walk-thru' of where we will need to go soon. I'm a little freaked out by the pain medication and use of pitocin, but hubby and I are on the same page and we'll take it as it comes. I'm spending some time but not all my energy thinking about it. All-in-all, we're not crazy about the birthing classes (makes for a long day), but taking away some useful nuggets. I have this nagging notion that I will require a c-section, so all the lessons will be for naught! ah well. In next week's class, we will talk about postpartum recovery and the last week is on baby care basics. I've pretty much decided to skip breastfeeding class, and just wait to meet with the lactation specialists at the hospital. On a side note, the instructor recommended that we start getting ready for bed at 9 pm each night at this stage of pregnancy, so even after tossing and turning for several hours, we will get adequate rest. I am mostly comfortable, but finding it increasingly hard to sleep at night, or through the night.
