Glyburide
I had my second of two gestational diabetes classes, at which they reviewed my glucose and diet tracking from the previous week. One of their first questions to me was, "Have you been hungry?" I discovered that I was trying a little 'too' hard to manage my glucose levels with diet and exercise alone. I was prescribed a very low dose of glyburide. Glyburide does not cross the placenta. It should allow me to eat the recommended number of carb counts per meal or snack (1 carb count = 15 g of carbohydrate), though my diet is still limited.
