We had an amusing trick-or-treater stumble up our front stairs and christen our new house. "Happy Halloween!" he jubilantly exclaimed, as my husband opened the door and asked, "What are you?." The youngster replied, "I'm a ghost tree!," in a proud voice that prompted us to believe he came up with the idea of decorating a white sheet with modern squiggles on his own. He took a Reese's from the bowl of candy offered toward him, then wide-eyed asked, "What are the yellow ones??" His dad, watching from afar, hopelessly shook his head, telling him "only one" while apologizing "every house." Ghost tree was our lone visitor, so it was definitely ok! In the meantime, hubby and I are diligently eating three bags of candy, including Butterfingers, Reese's Cups and chocolate M&M's. Good thing the doctors approve...!
A new study suggests that a mom-to-be’s chocolate habit could have a beneficial effect when it comes to pre-eclampsia. The study of 1,681 women showed that those who reported chocolate consumption of more than five servings a week had a lower risk of developing pre-eclampsia. The study is reported in the May 2008 issue of Epidemiology.
