We had our 18-20 week ultrasound. Baby is doing well and weighs about 11 ounces! (almost a full can of Coke, as hubby likes to say). Baby looks to have long legs like daddy's and continues to be quite active, with lots of waving at the camera, etc. These days, baby is passing the hours yawning, hiccuping, rolling, twisting, kicking, punching, sucking and swallowing. You can really see the facial features, fingers, toes and spine now. The ultrasound tech measured the baby's organs, including the brain, kidneys, stomach, and made sure there were four chambers to the heart. Heart rate, I believe was 151.
The ultrasound tech was not nearly as effusive as the previous one, but still took hubby's jokes in stride. "So, based on what you've seen so far, this is pretty much the best looking baby you've seen so far, right?" he asked. "Oh, yes, of course," she replied. I was just happy that she let me go to the bathroom, midway through the exam. Seriously, it is torturous that they make you drink that much water and push all over your belly!
In addition to the regular tests and measurements, we found out baby's gender! Any guesses before we spill the beans?
