Sharing the News

We are slowly, but surely sharing the baby news with family and friends. We've been telling most people in-person, as we get to see them as a couple. Hubby was patient enough to wait until my first doctor's visit, but now that the first trimester is completed, he is getting antsy and ready to send out a mass email. It is very cute!

Here are some fun stories so far:

We visited my parents for the weekend and my mom is the type who thinks I need to always eat more and take more vitamins. Hubby asked my mom if she had any vitamins which got my mom excitedly talking that they had vitamin C, etc. Then, he hesitated and said, "We need a different type of vitamin." Mom said, "Really?!" and did a little fist pump and gave me a huge hug. Meanwhile, my dad was sitting in the recliner, confused as to what just happened. Hubby announced, "You're going to be grandparents again." Classic.

Everyone in our wedding party had been placing bets on how long it would be before we had a baby. I called my sis-in-law (matron of honor) and asked her if she had gotten her bet in yet and what it was. After she told me her guess, I said, "Are you sure you don't want to change it to end of March or early April?"

We called hubby's younger brother and wife to share the news. She was so excited that she screamed! :)

We visited hubby's high school cross country coach and family, and they asked if we were running any races. I said I wasn't training for anything, but I completed a fun run 5k and my race time was pretty good, "if you divide it by two." Coach was so excited that he asked to share the news with the team! Some of our other friends, however, aren't as quick on the math. Hubby called one of his running buddies (groomsman) and said, "boy! Running shoes are really getting expensive... especially when you have to buy them for three." Yeah, yeah. "I mean, when you have to buy them for a whole family..." Yeah, yeah. "I mean, THREE people..."
