Sugar High

I took the 3-hour glucose test. Yuck! I had five minutes to drink the orange drink this time (which was more sugary than the fruit punch) and for the first hour, it felt like I was on a sugar high and then hung over. I was a little nauseous about 45 minutes in and worried that I was going to get sick and need to start all over again, but after I passed that initial hump, I was ok. I called hubby for a few minutes, walked around in the hallways, stayed by the sunshiny windows and felt better. I was SO thankful that I only had to drink one cup. I thought I had to drink a new cup every hour, but they just drew blood every hour. Not that all the arm pricks were much fun, but the lab staff (yes, I am quite familiar with all of them now) was nice. The good news is that I passed! I haven't met with my doctor yet to discuss my specific results, but I fell into the normal limits. We are thankful and happy.
