Choosing an OB is not like in the movies. In Knocked Up, Katherine Heigl interview dozens of doctors, trying to find the perfect fit to deliver her baby. After talking to a handful of girlfriends who either are pregnant or new moms, I realized that location, availability and insurance coverage were going to be the key decision factors. I decided to go to a large clinic where both hubby and I have had treatments and health care. Fortunately, I was able to search online through the doctor's bios and several doctors were available. I tried to pick someone who seemed active and had some similar personal interests. It felt a little like closing my eyes and putting my finger on a phone book page, but we are looking forward to our visit.
