Here's a list of foods our little guy has tried so far! Mostly, we have been using the Gerber brand. He has only had a very small amount of homemade butternut squash (plain, baked, food processed), unsweetened applesauce (from a full-size jar), and about 1/4 of a banana (mashed up thoroughly). He tends to make faces with the homemade food. It tastes exactly the same to me as the jarred stuff, so I am guessing there is a slight texture difference. Also, he loves to suck on a washcloth after he eats, so I might try one of those mesh popsicle sacks that I've seen at Babies R Us. I would love any advice or *recipes* from those of you who make your own baby food.

Some ideas from a friend that I would like to try making soon:
sweet potatoes, carrots, asparagus, a broccoli/cauliflower/cheese mixture, tofu curry (I used curry powder with out heat, but then it adds flavor without adding salt. He loved it and then I could easily add one cube of protein to another dish) eggplant, papaya, peaches, apples (really easy to make your own too- I added a little cinnamon for flavor,) zucchini. He also loved a bunch of fruits that I would puree a couple of days worth but not freeze, such as mangoes, plums, apricots, kiwis, pears, etc. We try to give him as much as we can of what we are eating, as well as things like scrambled eggs with veggies (sometimes I blend it, sometimes I let him eat it as finger food) or yogurt (which he LOVES and eats every day!)
