I am feeling pretty good this week, without all the Week 21 aches and pains, leg cramps, and varicose veins that the websites are chatting up. I am thankful for that, even if I can no longer touch my toes, I am getting much wider, and my belly button is slowly disappearing! I have been sleeping with a body pillow for weeks, and keep my feet elevated most evenings, so I think that helps a lot. In the meantime, hubby suffers from piriformus syndrome, presumably caused by years of collegiate and post-collegiate racing, so when we aren't competing for space on the couch, he is constantly begging me to "push on his butt" with the heels of my feet. I guess it helps us both a little!
Tips to deal with leg aches and pains:
* Support Hose – Put them on first thing in the morning to help deal with varicose veins and swelling during pregnancy.
* Pregnancy support belt – Wear this throughout the day to help deal with edema or discomfort in the ankles or legs.
* Stretching – Stretch about 10-15 minutes every day. Remember, don't push yourself too hard, it shouldn't hurt! A nice gentle stretch will go a long way.
* Pregnancy Pillow - Elevate your legs on a pregnancy support pillow when you relax at night, or when sleeping. This will increase circulation in your legs, often relieving varicose veins, cramping and edema.

A week and three days after this post, I had the WORST charley horse in my left calf. Coincidence? Dehydrated? Car ride? Sleeping at the in-laws in a different bed? I was pretty much in tears, it hurt so much! Hubby rubbed it out for me and I followed up with a big glass of water, OJ, a banana, a Gatorade...
