The Rainbow Blanket

I was running behind on laundry and grabbed a small receiving blanket to use as a burp cloth. It's sort of an ugly thing with faded red, blue and yellow strpes, too small for swaddling and branded with a "Disney baby" tag despite no other distinguishing features. This same blanket was on our bed, atop my body pillow, when I brought a fussy baby into bed with hubby and me early yesterday morning. Maybe 30 minutes later, I woke up to see it neatly laid across Baby's belly and asked rhetorically, "Did Dad put a blanket on you?" To my surprise, Hubby said, "No", which meant Baby grabbed it by himself! I suppose it could smell like Mom and Dad, but what an unlikely toy! Baby has been playing and chewing on it ever since!
